Spin the Globe, Airplay >>
Our usual joy at spinning global sounds for you was diminished this morning upon learning of the passing of Obo Addy. Born in Ghana, Addy became a master drummer at age 6, and more recently made his home in Portland, Oregon. He was at the center of so much performing, teaching, and cultural educating that it’s hard to imagine the world without him. Our best to his family and friends and students, and may he find new rhythms in the great beyond.
The show must go on, however, and we counted down the month’s Top 10 global CDs, most of them new entries since the last chart. Listen, explore, enjoy!
