Romania's Fanfare Ciocarlia is heading out on a brief-eight city North American tour this year. The New York Gypsy Festival founder Mehmet Dede best sum up this band with this quote, "Fanfare Ciocarlia's wicked fast trumpets, tenor and baritone horns, tubas, clarinets, saxophones, bass drum and percussion from the Carpathian mountains are a sight and sound to behold. This tour is way overdue for the beloved Gypsy brass band tradition." Hopefully, if it works out, I'll report back if it's true at Minneapolis' Cedar Cultural Center, the last date on their tour.
