“Monajat: A Joint Brownstone Brooklyn Selihot Happening.” Galeet Dardashti mines her memories of her famous grandfather Yona Dardashti, a master vocalist of Persian classical music, to give an entirely new texture to the traditional Selichot songs of repentance. Sept. 8. Preceded by Selichot learning and Havdalah beginning at 9:30 p.m., the event begins at 11:30 p.m. Park Slope Jewish Center (1320 Eighth Ave., Brooklyn; [718] 768-1453, www.psjc.org).

“Songs of Zebulon.” Here’s a collaboration I’m looking forward to — Frank London and Jeremiah Lockwood, performing hazonos of Cantor Zebulon Kwartin in one of the iconic Jewish spaces of New York City. FSept. 9. The Eldridge St. Synagogue (12 Eldridge St., [212] 219-0888, www.eldridgestreet.org).

Ljova and the Contraband offer up a wild evening of Eastern-European and Gypsy melodies, Latin rhythms, Jazz-inspired improvisations, and Ljova’s usual Jewish/classical meld. With a free drink, even! Oct. 4, 7:30 p.m. Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space (95th St. and Broadway, [212] 864-5400, www.symphonyspace.org).

Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic make their annual visit to New York City with a particularly thrilling program that includes Schoenberg’s “Kol Nidre, Op. 39” and the New York premiere of Noam Sheriff’s “Mechaye Ha-Metim.” Oct. 25, 7 p.m. Stern Auditorium, Carnegie Hall (57th St. and Seventh Ave., [212] 903-9600, www.carnegiehall.org).

Slightly off the music beat — but only slightly — a new production of Tony Kushner’s “A Dybbuk: Between Two Worlds,” with an original score by Yale Strom, performed live by Strom and his band Hot Pstromi. Times vary. Nov. 1-11. Goldstein Theatre at Queens College (Kissena Boulevard and Horace Harding Expressway, [718] 793-8080, www.qc.cuny.edu/academics/degrees/dah/dramatheatredance/Pages/default.aspx).

As regular readers know, the Afro-Semitic Experience is one of my favorite groups. The ensemble doesn’t get into the city nearly often enough, but it is performing at Eldridge Street with Cantor Jack Mendelson (another favorite) and you really ought to be there. Nov. 8, 7 p.m. Eldridge St. Synagogue (12 Eldridge St., [212] 219-0888, www.eldridgestreet.org).

Isra-Alien, a high-energy acoustic guitar duo anchored by jazz guitarist Oren Neiman, celebrates the launch of its second CD of Israeli-inflected music in the East Village. Nov. 10. Drom (85 Ave. A, [212] 777-1157, www.dromnyc.com). Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Winter wouldn’t be complete without the latest edition of the Sephardic Music Festival. Knowing Diwon and the joyous Jewish gremlins of Shemspeed, the line-up should be smokin’ and the events will be all over town. Dec. 8-15. For information, go to www.sephardicmusicfestival.com/ny closer to the event.

One of the saddest losses sustained by Jewish music in the past year was the death of singer Adrienne Cooper. Frank London informs The Jewish Week that a large group of Jewish musicians is planning a concert event in tribute to her memory on Dec. 22. Further details will appear in the paper as they become available.
