Life Death Tears Dream (indie)

Following their 2004 Juno-nominated Road to Kashgar, the Orchid Ensemble is back with Life Death Tears Dream. The Vancouver-based trio of Lan Tung on erhu and vocals, Haiqiong Deng on zheng and Jonathan Bernard on marimba and percussion, spans Eastern and Western cultures and stretches musical boundaries, ranging over improvisatory world music, classical Chinese and roots avant-garde on 10 contemplative tracks inspired by poetry from China, Taiwan, Spain and the Jewish Diaspora.
