From a press release: "Using ancient Chinese instruments and Western percussion, the Vancouver-based Orchid Ensemble embraces a variety of musical styles, ranging from the traditional and contemporary music of China to world music, new music, jazz and creative improvisation. Ensemble members Lan Tung on Chinese violin, Haiqiong Deng on Chinese zither, and Canadian percussionist Jonathan Bernard create new sounds that defy easy categorization.
