Brushy One String

Armed with nothing more than a single guitar string and a raw, powerful voice, Brushy One String wastes no time getting to the essence of what he’s playing. The son of legendary reggae artist Freddy McKay and R&B singer Beverly Foster, One String grew up with music at the center of his life. Playing everything from pots and pans to fully-stringed guitars at an early age, he found inspiration as much in his father’s reggae as in his own love of American soul and blues. Touching on all those influences at once, One String’s minimalist approach belies a deep richness within. Destiny will be available April 30.
