Jazz guitarist and oud player Brian Prunka encountered Arabic music several years ago almost by chance and now his original compositions culminate in his group’s eponymous debut CD Nashaz, out this month. Prunka successfully blurs the lines between two sonic worlds, creating music that showcases the best of both, while striking out in new directions.
