Marula's Shade: The ImprovED Album is a music CD by artist-educators of the ImprovED program in South Africa's Nkomazi region, where 40% of the adult population lives with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. The music serves a purpose beyond entertainment; it offers education about how to protect oneself from HIV, take steps to reduce its spread, and prevent another generation from being lost to the virus. ImprovED strives to educate everyone who will listen, and young people especially; their task complicated by the silence about the terrible and insidiously widespread disease. Highly recommended not only for the as a beacon of hope and a collective effort to battle against a devastating social ill.
The tracks are "HIV is our War", "Respect", "Lullaby", "Find a Way", "Marula's Shade", "To Zero", "Siyalobola", "Ika So", "My Brother", "Money for Love", "Days of Love", "The ImprovED Style", "History", "You Can't Dance", "The Cure", "Love Is", "Tshepo's Hope", and "Let's Come Together".
