A punk rock/riot grrrl from China, a beatboxer from Russia, a poet-singer from Lebanon, a drummer from Kenya and 21 other musicians from around the world will be making music in New Smyrna Beach.

OneBeat, a cultural exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, has brought 25 musicians from 16 countries to the Atlantic Center for the Arts.

The goal of OneBeat musicians: to make music together and to foster better international relations.

After rehearsing for two weeks at the ACA on instruments both modern and indigenous, the OneBeat musicians will perform locally then head out on tour to New York, Washington, D.C., and other cities.

OneBeat members will perform at 7:30 Wednesday at Arts on Douglas, 123 Douglas St., New Smyrna Beach.

And OneBeat musicians will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, 1414 Art Center Ave., New Smyrna Beach.
