The fall Horizons Concert Series at NAU concludes Monday with a “deliciously demented and entertaining” (The Wall Street Journal) performance by award-winning vibraphone quintet Mr. Ho’s Orchestrotica, at 7:30 p.m. in Ashurst Hall.

Referencing the exotica of composers ranging from Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich to George Gershwin, Martin Denny and John Adams, Mr. Ho’s Orchestrotica performs global jazz and exotic chamber music with world-music flavors sourced from Asia, the Middle East, the Balkans and Latin America .

“A perfect cocktail of mid-century ‘space age bachelor pad’ music deliciously accented with chamber, jazz, classical, and world music,” wrote The Boston Globe.

Led by multipercussionist, vibraphonist, composer and NAU music alumnus Brian O’Neill, the group also features Geni Skendo (bass flute/woodwinds), Shane Shanahan (percussion), Bruno Raberg (acoustic bass), and Tev Stevig (oud/tambur/plucked strings). Mr. Ho’s Orchestrotica was named the 2012 “Best World Music Act” in The Boston Globe’s annual readers’ poll. The quintet’s appearance on the Horizons Concert Series coincides with the release of its second album, “Where Here Meets There.”

Individual tickets for the Horizons Concert Series are $20 for adults, $12.50 for seniors and NAU faculty and staff, and free for children (age 17 and younger) and NAU students with an ID. For tickets to all events, call 523-5661, toll free (888) 520-7214 or visit nau.edu/cto.
