New "Muses" for Muses

A first listen to new music from The Stooges Brass Band from the upcoming globalFEST's "Selector" album.

Just in time for the Krewe of Muses parade tonight, My Spilt Milk is pleased to present the premiere of "Muses" by The Stooges Brass Band. The song is the closing track from Selector, a compilation album of contemporary world music put out by New York City's globalFEST. The album also includes Arab electronica, Native American blues, Siberian folk rock and more. Selector is available now digitally, but it will be released physically on Fat Tuesday.

"Muses" is in no hurry to start the party, warming up patiently and blue before a trumpet starts the fire. The Stooges broaden the brass band sonic palate to include a guitar and timbales, and the result is both in the tradition and looking to advance it.
