Alejandro Almenares – Casa de Trova, Cuba 50’s – Tumi Music

La tradición tiene que seguir, no debe morir. No tiene absolutamente nada de malo que la música afrocaribeña evolucione, pero sus raíces, su forma más primitiva debe mantenerse. Y son pocas las disqueras o artistas que se comprometen a seguir alimentando la tradición – es un riesgo que muchas veces no paga. Es por eso que Alejandro Almenares y su espléndido CD “Casa de Trova, Cuba 50’s” tienen un valor inmenso. Es son cubano en su tinta, es son cubano en su verdadera, preciosa y simple expresión.

El álbum sorpresivamente incluye dos compactos: uno con los temas cantados y el otro instrumental. El CD con temas cantados incluye 13 números, mientras el instrumental consta de 14, siendo el bolero-son “El mismo paso” la pieza adicional. Por ser un trabajo sencillo, que incluye “son” y “bolero son” – para los que se atrevan a tratar de separarlos --, es difícil escoger favoritos. Estoy seguro que el nombre Alejandro Enis Almenares será desconocido para muchos. Y debe ser así, pues a la edad de 76 años, ésta es su primera grabación como solista , a pesar de haber sido miembro o fundador de grupos como “Trio Oriente”, “Las Guitarras Internacionales”, “Los Taínos”, Quinteto Oriente”, entre otros. Su composición más popular es “Mueve la Cintura, Mulata”, y se le suele encontrar durante la semana en la famosa Casa de Trova, en Santiago, Cuba, de la cual su padre fue fundador.
