Hungarian-born violinist Ferenc Illenyi presents Gypsy Dream, an instrumental odyssey. Accompanying Illenyi are expert jazz pianist Andrew Leinhard, Erich Avinger on the guitar, Chris Maresh playing acoustic bass, and other contributing musicians. Gypsy Dream especially delves into the ever-evolving legacy of Hungarian "Gypsy music", which has a long tradition of being open to improvisation or additions. Soulful, invigorating, and rewarding, Gypsy Dream is a gem for any international music collection. The tracks are "Ando Beco" (4:30), "Tears" (4:06), "Boabdit, Bulerias" (3:50), "Gypsy Caprice" (4:33), "Indifference" (5:54), "Oblivion" (3:33), "Tortura" (5:14), "A Minor Swing" (3:18), "Gloomy Sunday" (3:19), "Birds of Santa Maria Novella" (5:51), and "Sonata in F Minor K466" (4:30).
