Fiddler Eileen Ivers, one of pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today, will perform at Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington March 1.
Ivers’ career includes nine wins at the All-Ireland Fiddle Championship, performances with the London Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony at The Kennedy Center, the Boston Pops, The Chieftains, Sting, Hall and Oates, Patti Smith, Paula Cole, founding member of original Cherish the Ladies, a Grammy win, work on movie soundtracks including “Gangs of New York” and performances for presidents and royalty worldwide.
In advance of her album release this spring, Ivers is touring the U.S. with her band Immigrant Soul and will stop at the Port Washington theater, located at 232 Main Street. Tickets are
$37 through $47 and the show is slated to begin at 8 p.m.
