April 2, 2004-Mariza with the Los Angeles Philharmonic
I'd never heard Mariza until she opened for a world music concert at the Bowl a couple of summers ago. Her voice is an incredible, dusky, smoky, charged instrument. She sings Fado, a Portuguese folk song, and she looks so glamorous on stage that her performances are always special events. 10/01/03
