Solomon and Socalled have united for this debut CD, "HipHopKhasene". Both are prominent members of the blossoming Klezmer Music scene. This a really interesting album as it is the ancient Eastern European wedding ritual set to a Hip Hop beat. It follows through the rites of the ceremony, the ritual, the weeping of the bride, and the seven blessings. NowToronto.com calls it "The phattest wedding yet" and that sums it up better then I could ever do! Musically this is a tremendously creative album that is full of samples, rappers, and more traditional instrumentation. While some will inevitably see this as an insult to the ancient wedding tradition, this is far from insulting and forward thinkers everywhere will embrace it. Its contemporary musical language is grounded in the traditional ritual and it's a blast to listen to! Open-minded fans looking for something new will surely find it here!
