The Klezmatics “Rise Up! Shteyt Oyf!” (Rounder Records)

Founded in 1986, The Klezmatics celebrate the ecstatic nature of Yiddish music with works that are both provocative and reflective.  Their music ranges form songs with social message that reflect the band’s anti-globalization and workers rights leanings, to Yiddish carnival songs and Jewish spiritual music.
