The Klezmatics continue to root their music in the ancient modes and melodies of Jewish music but take off in contemporary directions. Those who have enjoyed their now classic albums ("Jews with Horns," and "The Well" come to mind) will value Rise Up as well; for the Klezmatics are instrumentally topnotch and their work resonates tradition yet is unbound by it. 09/01/02
