Facts on Wax, CD Review >>
Federico Aubele is a Buenos Aires-born song-writer and guitarist who possesses vocals that are overwhelmingly sensual, and his delicate guitar work. Aubele's new album Amatoria is an eleven-song collection that is versed both in Spanish erotic poetry and intimacy. It's not so much the lyrical content as it is the feeling of his music. Check out cuts as the marriage of "Luna Y Sol," the romantic "Suena Mi Guitarra," the swaying tango "Otra Vez," the haunting "Te Quiero a Ti," the bolero-flavored "Este Amor" sung with his wife Natalia, and the straight-forward Mexican-style bolero "Hermosa." Aubele covers all of love's traits, the romance; the breakups, breakdowns, and bittersweet moments, leaving no stone unturned. The tender "Del Ayer" sets the pace for the second half, following with, "Siempre Nuevo," the swaying "Riendo Asi," the taste of a powerful first kiss on "El Sabor," and brings it all to an end with the soft sound of "Tan Cerca." Aubele's guitar and voice are further enhanced with the efforts of guest vocalists Sabina Sciubba and Miho Hatori. Super CD
