Putumayo Present Latinas: Women of Latin America
Three of the artists featured on Women of Latin America, the newest collection in the world-music label Putumayo’s popular Women In … CD series are coming to Jackson Hall at the Mondavi Center. The featured musicians representing contemporary and traditional Latin American music are Totó La Momposina, a singer and dancer from Colombia; Mariana Montalvo, a singer and Chilean exile celebrating the traditional music of her homeland; and Belô Velloso, the niece of two of Brazil’s most popular musicians, Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia.
