Bembeya Jazz performs Friday, July 9, as part of the eighth annual Chicago SummerDance festival, which offers dance lessons followed by public dancing to a variety of music outdoors in the “Spirit of Music Garden” in Grant Park. Instructor led lessons are 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the live band at 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and lessons 4 to 5 p.m., live band 5 to 7 p.m. Sundays, through Aug. 29, weather permitting. The free events take place at the Spirit of Music Garden Grant Park, 601 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago.
