These six young Polish musicians have dug into their homeland’s overlooked folk music tradition and discovered a lively, rhythmic and hauntingly melodic cache of songs that can be played on acoustic violins, basses, cymbaloms and drums with stark beauty and puck-fueled energy.

The choral singing, derived from traditional shepherd’s “white voice” screaming, sounds almost Medieval.  While most of the tracks are acoustic, the album includes two electronic remixes, including one fascinating fusion with Indian trance music.  One of the year’s most exciting world music discoveries.
