Zemog, El Gallo Bueno Aagoo Records
Zemog, El Gallo Bueno (or Gomez, The good rooster) is a very very odd album indeed. The band seems particularly fascinated with roosters and word has it that one of the members even dons a rooster costume on stage! For all the oddities and quirky tastes that are apparent on this debut release, one thing is fact… this band is full of great players. The Musicianship here is astounding. Musically, Zemog has their foot firmly planted is Salsa but there is a certain flare here that pulls me away from a Salsa mindset. I have yet to place what that is but there is something here that brings a much broader appeal than a normal Salsa style band. Music aside, this CD ( as you have probably deduced from the name) is a whole lot of fun! This is a great CD to just put on and go about your business. It will have you dancing and singing through your daily grind in no time. I highly recommend checking out this band. www.aagoo.com for more information.
