At e-town, get to know two bands foward and backward.

What does New York's Zemog El Gallo Bueno have in common with Gomez? Well, both acts are on the bill for tonight's taping of
e-town, National Public Radio program that calls the Boulder Theater home, and "Zemog" happens to be "Gomez" spelled backward. But the comparisons end there. Indeed, Abraham Gomez-Delgado, the Gomez behind Zemog El Gallo Bueno, has absolutely nothing to do with the other Gomez, a British band that contains no Gomezes at all; members include Ben Ottewell, lan Ball and Tom Gray, who will perform at this show as an acoustic trio. Moreover, Zemog's music, a thrillingly eccentric melange of exciting, extremely danceable Latin music styles, could hardly be more dif ferent from the relatively straightforward rock and pop that Gomez offers. For proof, spin Camade la Conga the latest Zemog disc. "La Costilla," Conga's opening track, is high lighted by crazed vocals, wild rhythms, honk ing horns and an overall air of genial weirdness. Those who hear it will never confuse Zemog and Gomez again.

The Zemog El Gallo Bueno and Gomez sessions get under way at
7 p.m. at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th Street in Boulder; tick ets are $20. To :earn more, call 303-786-7030 or visit www.bouldertheater.com.
