A selective listing by critics of The Times of noteworthy pop and jazz concerts in the New York metropolitan region this weekend.
* ZEMOG, EL GALLO BUENO, MOFUNGO, Makor, 35 West 67th Street, Manhattan, (212) 601-1000. Zemog, El Gallo Bueno, a band from Boston, has a spirit akin to that of Latin alternative rock bands, twisting genres at will and singing with skewed humor. But it's largely unplugged, taking the horn section and guitar vamps of Puerto Rican salsa and bending them by way of Mingus and Sun Ra. Sharing the bill is Mofungo, the long-running and unpredictable New York band that likes its grooves noisy. Tomorrow night at 9; admission is $12 (Pareles).
