Putumayo compilation CDs tend to be eclectic, and this one is no exception: 10 very danceable tracks featuring performers from three continents. The music ranges from the old school salsa dura of veterans Chico Alvarez ("Cogele El Gusto") and Jose Mangual Jr. ("Ritmo Con Ache") to the camp of Pepe & The Bottle Blondes ("Cuentame Que Te Paso"), with stops at such oddities as the Cuban regae of Ska Cubano and the Croatian salsa band Cubismo. Eclectic doesn't necessarily mean varied, and this is the CD's only misstep.
