When the two glorious discs in this CDs-plus-DVD entity hit stores in early 2000, smack in the middle of the worldwide Fela revival, MCA Records titled them The Best Best ol Fela Kuti. This new set doesn't tamper with perfection, and the added DVD contains the enlightening French documentary Music Is the Weapon, which caught up with the late Nigerian agit- funksterand AIDS victim in 1982, fresh out of prison after his most recent bout with his country's brutal military. So much has been made of Fefa's arrogance and womanizing that this glimpse of his defiantly makeshift poor-people's movement is indeed an eye-opener.
