High concept? How about Loreena McKennitt in reverse?
Going from India to Canada and fusing an ancient Persian song form to new styles under the production of up and coming guitarist Rez Abassi, Ahluwalia has this reverse echo of McKennitt in her world beat bag of tricks. Adding Natalie McMaster to her sonic troop, you get one of those old but new/foreign but familiar side trips that aurally and sonically knocks you out. A tasty alt.adult treat for those that thought records like his simply weren't going to be made any more. 06/14/05
