Music lovers can travel world and never leave Hub By Sarah Rodman, Globe Staff | December 6, 2006
The upcoming season for World Music and CRASHArts, announced yesterday , will immerse listeners in the sights and sounds of dozens of countries -- including the good ol' US of A -- through the universal language of music and movement.
The 34 shows represent a wide spectrum, from the elegance of the Flamenco Festival -- featuring renowned guitarist Paco de Lucía one night and dance sensation Rafaela Carrasco the next -- and the African big band of Toumani Diabaté to the Finnish folk of Värttinä and the calming grooves of the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival. In other words, there will be plenty of performances worth busting out of hibernation to attend.
