AUKTION - D-Beat R'n'R Mayhem (Wasted Sounds, CD)
Dual-vocal rockin' rollin' hardcore from Scandinavia. It starts with a parody of the intro to Black Sabbath's first album but that's the only commonality, as the boogie riffage soon takes over. In the same vein as Uncurbed, et al. Speed and aggro but also playing up the love for metallic rock. You might think it's a case where the guys only want to rock out but the lyrics reveal strong social conscience - homophobia, the surveillance state, gender roles, etc. They also do a cover of Anti-Cimex's "Raped Ass" - sort of. It's re-titled "Raped Ass Part II," with different music, (www.wasted sounds.com) 07/01/06
