Romani or Gypsy music has survived countless centuries. It continues to pick up the traditions of whatever the local sound is to adapt it to their own unique brisk and organic sound. Kal continues that tradition by plucking through Balkan blues, bhangra beats, Argentine tangos, Montenegran rap, Turkish clarinets, waltzes, flamenco guitars, and big club beats. It sure does sound like a hodge podge creation that wouldn’t work doesn’t it? But it does. Majestically so. Gypsy music that’s world traveled and yet still modern enough to ignite any hip night club.
