The Middle Eastern lute known as the oud is the instrument of choice for this trio of Palestinian brothers. “Randana” is a testament to their skillful mastery of the instrument. Using various techniques they craft anxious songs that are dangerously complex yet easily engage the listener. A sad tale was once told by Samir Joubran after the audience applauded their efforts. His daughter was crying and confused and as he lifted her into his arms he told the audience that she has only known a crowd making noise for one reason: violence. 04/03/06 >> go there
