Le Trio Joubran
The Palestinian brothers -- Samir, Wissam and Adnan Joubran -- improvise on oud, the ancient Arabic ancestor of lute, guitar and mandolin. The instruments were handcrafted by Wissam, the first lute maker from the Arab world to study at the prestigious Antonio Stradivarius Academy in Cremona, Italy. Samir, the eldest brother, is a solo artist and composer of music for film and dance. Adnan, 21, already is recognized as an oud virtuoso. The intimate concert is presented as part of the Cleveland Museum of Art's Viva! & Gala Around Town Series at 7:30 p.m. today at Reinberger Chamber Hall in Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. Tickets are $29 and $34. Call 216-421-7350. 04/14/06 >> go there
