The Promise - The King of Balkan Brass
I loved the last album by the Markovic Orkestar. “The Promise” keeps it with yet more delightful Balkan brass instrumentals. Gypsy music that is so surreal it seems as if it was carved from the dreams of Gods. Serbian music is a rare gem these days in the bloated universe of world music so when I hear something this rare and yet so undeniably special, I clutch on to it tight. If you ever want to be exposed to some of the best brass instrumentals and Gypsy music ever heard, I highly suggest “The Promise” with all its rich genius. 04/01/06 >> go there
