• Upsides: Jason Hann and Michael Travis from the String Cheese Incident are back, this time with an electronica group, specializing in improvised sets of trip-hop, drum 'n bass and breakbeat.

• Downsides: Aside from the improvisation and the two shared band members, the jazzy jamband sounds of String Cheese and EOTO's music have very little in common. Kiran Ahluwalia

• Begins: 8 p.m.

• Ticket price: $16 through the Rialto box office, 740-1000.

• Upsides: Ahluwalia is a unique Indo-Canadian musician who puts ghazal poetry, a form that has roots more than 1,000 years old, to music. She has also added Portuguese fado to the mix. You won't find anything like it in town.

• Downsides: Such a distinct form might not appeal to enough people to sell out a venue like the Rialto.
