Indo-Canadian singer Kiran Ahluwalia, who makes her San Francisco debut Friday, specializes in the ghazal, the ancient poetic songcraft that she describes as a “highly literate pickup line.” Ahluwalia and her five-piece ensemble (including tabla, harmonium, guitar and bass) infuse the ghazal with influences from around the world.
