French ska/reggae punksters, Babylon Circus release Dances of Resistance on April 29. Their musical tour touches on Muslim women, Dublin, Ireland, and Russia. The title cut sets the pace, followed by the rowdy “No Competition,” the antics of “Circus,” the humor of “Mr. Clown,” and the hurdy gurdy sound of “Interlude Barbare.” Circus uses their music to address social and political issues very effectively. Lead singer David Baruchel continues the tour with “Warlord,” the street revelry of the instrumental “Parade Acoustique,” making waves with “Sailor’s Wife,” the ferocity of “Lost In the Jungle,” ending with the pulsating “My Friend.” Sadly, their upcoming tour does not hit Boston.
