Midwest Record, CD Review >>
Since the average gringo isn’t too heavily invested in salsa, he’s not going to spend too much time listening to this and worrying about Tito Puente or Mongo Santamaria turning over in their respective graves. With contemporary ears used to mixing and remixing as well as the electronic invention and intervention, gringo ears simply sense this as an upbeat, bouncy, spirited party record. Clearly fun stuff for jaded ears searching out some new world beat fun.
