Soul meets pacific chillout as New Zealand's soulful superstars Fat Freddy's Drop return with Dr. Boondigga & The Big BW.

Lead by the soulful croons of Joe Dukie on vocals, Fat Freddy's Drop span an eclectic range of musical genres and can best be described as a hybrid between roots, dub, reggae, jazz and soul. After the release of 'Based on A True Story' some four years ago, they've mostly been touring the UK and Europe spreading their Pacific charm.

Their latest studio album 'Dr. Boondigga & The Big BW' has not only been not only two years in the making but it’s been two years worth the wait. Mainly born from Freddy's live jams, fantastic voyages and many hours of beat reduction and sonic fine tuning in Lyall Bay, Wellington; it's the perfect soul album. Featuring songs like 'Shiver', 'Big BW', 'The Raft' and the lead song 'Boondiga' it's a masterfully soulful album filled with true Pacific chill.

That's one of the bands most endearing qualities, their ability to create universally accepted soulful rhythms whilst staying true to their New Zealand roots.
