This is a step on from Segu Blue , the album that won Kouyate and his ngoni big band every award going. Toumani Diabaté, Kouyate's former employer in the Symmetric Orchestra, guests on kora on a couple of tracks, Vieux Farka Touré plays electric guitar, and Kassé Mady Diabaté lends his trademark incantatory singing on "Jamana Be Diya". The bedrock, as ever, is the intricate patterns woven by the ngonis, and the bright voice of Kouyate's wife Amy Sacko. 11/25/09
