SambaDa presents ‘Gente!'

Miners Foundry Cultural Center hosts a samba and salsa dance party Friday in Nevada City.

The high-energy, Santa Cruz-based band SambaDa musically unites the Americas, drawing from percussion-based styles of South and Central American samba and salsa, and blending them with the funk and reggae beats familiar to North America.

SambaDa's new album “Gente!” (meaning “People!”) will be celebrated in an all-ages show starting at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door; they are available at BriarPatch, by calling (530) 272-5333 and online at BrownPaperTickets.com.
