Blitz The Ambassador
"Dear Africa" f. Les Nubians

Brooklyn-based, Ghana-born Blitz The Ambassador could have easily followed up his fantastic 2009 album, Stereotype, with a similarly funky, boom-bap-laden record and found success. But that would have been too easy. Instead, he returned to his homeland and found inspiration to create his latest project, Native Sun, which drops in May. It features Blitz, who raps, produces and composes, spitting his both English and his native tongue, Twi. He's offered a sample of what to expect on the album here with "Dear Africa," which features guests Les Nubians and frequent collaborators the Embassy Ensemble. It's a brassy, chill, and inspiring tune that has me greatly anticipating the release of Native Sun. 03/30/11 >> go there
