FITTING TRIBUTE TO KING JOHN
JOHNNY BOY WOULD LOVE THIS - A TRIBUTE TO JOHN MARTYN

THIS double album pays tribute to the late, great songwriter and hugely influential music legend John Martyn.

With a total of 30 songs, it features an eclectic mix of artists from Paolo Nutini, Snow Patrol, Swell Season and Phil Collins to David Gray, Beck and The Cure's Robert Smith.

If you're only coming to John Martyn who died two years ago at the age of 60, he first made a name for himself on the London folk scene.

Martyn caught the attention of Island Records founder Chris Blackwell who made him the first white solo act to join the roster of his reggae-based label.

Phil Collins was among the well known artists he influenced. "He had such power, such emotion in his music that he could overwhelm the listener," Collins says.

Robert Smith of The Cure is another fan who fell under his spell. "All these beautiful songs were, are and always will be an inspiration," he says.
