One of Kansas City’s most revered Halloween parties is back for its ninth installment. Roughly 2,000 people turned out for last year’s version of Bacchus Foundation’s annual costume party, which features 10 bars (the ticket price includes drinks), thousands of dollars in prizes and a sexiest costume contest, whose winner will be flown to Los Angeles the next day to hang at the Playboy Mansion. T9 benefits the Children’s Place and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City and runs from 8 p.m. to midnight at Union Station. Tickets are $40 through Thursday and $45 on Friday, with VIP tickets going for $75.

Halloween Bash | Saturday

The Power & Light District’s annual Halloween party features a DJ on the KC Live! stage plus eight costume competitions with more than $5,000 in prizes. Participating venues include Shark Bar, McFadden’s, PBR Big Sky, Angels Rock Bar and Tengo Sed Cantina. Entry to the KC Live! Block is free. Halloween Haunt | Through Sunday

Worlds of Fun’s annual Halloween event features nine haunts, including Asylum Island, CarnEvil, Master McCarthy’s Doll Factory and a new addition, London Terror. The attraction opens at 8 p.m. Admission is $26.86-$42.98. Details, WorldsOfFun.com.

Quixotic | Friday

Quixotic, Kansas City’s favorite multimedia performance art collective, has performed at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and at the grand opening festivities for the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Yet it was a comparatively modest engagement at Crossroads KC last August that had the feel of a true coming-out party. As Quixotic’s futuristic music, athletic aerialists and stunning light show mesmerized more than 1,000 people, it was clear that the collective had earned the support of mainstream music fans and was no longer a fringe arts group. Just because expectations are high doesn’t mean that Quixotic’s performance in the beautiful confines of Liberty Hall won’t contain plenty of jaw-dropping moments. MarchFourth Marching Band, a like-minded collective from Oregon, will also be on hand. General admission tickets are $16. Reserved balcony seats are $21. Doors open at 7 p.m. MarchFourth starts at 8 p.m., Quixotic starts at 10.

Sushi 101 | Sunday

The Chiefs are off this weekend — they play the Chargers on Monday — so you might as well fill the Sunday-afternoon void with a trip to RA Sushi, where the restaurant’s chefs provide a crash course in the particulars of raw fish. Throw in a little sushi history, some rolling lessons and you’ve got yourself a nice little Sunday. The one-day event runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at 11638 Ash St. in Leawood. Tickets include food (miso soup, edamame, maki rolls, nigiri), a beverage, a sushi-rolling mat and a gift certificate for a later visit. Space is limited. Call 913-850-6260 to make a reservation.
