Gadulka seminar by Georgi Petrov

By kellythoma
June 5, 2006

Musical Workshop Labyrinth will be offering a Seminar for the
music of Bulgaria and the gadulka with Georgi Petrov. The seminar will be held
June 26 – July 1 of 2006, in Houdetsi, Crete, Greece.

Georgi Petrov is the foremost representative of the younger generation of
gadulka players in Bulgaria and a musician with very wide experience teaching
the gadulka and Bulgarian music to people all over the world.

This seminar will be of interest not only to gadulka and lyra players, but
also to musicians who play other instruments and who are interested in deepening
their acquaintance with Bulgarian music.

In 2003 & 2004 Georgi Petrov gave a similar seminar with great success. All
of the students were deeply impressed by his generosity with his vast knowledge
of Bulgarian music as well as by his simple and clear presentation. “It is by
overwhelming popular demand that we bring him again this year
.”
