Gigi, Illuminated Audio, Palm Pictures

Even better is "Illuminated Audio," a remix disc of tracks from the stellar debut disc by Ethiopian singer Gigi. Producer Bill Laswell has taken the songs and twisted them in new and unexpected ways. Much of it is virtually unrecognizable from the original, and "Illuminated Audio" very much stands on its own.
