A Distinct French Stamp from Vishten

Musical styles from two islands in the Gulf of St. Lawrence blend to create the unique sound of the band Vishten. The band is: Emmanuelle LeBlanc on bodhran, whistles, and vocals; Pastelle LeBlancon on accordion and vocals; and Pascal Miousse on fiddle, guitar, and vocals. The LeBlanc sisters are from Prince Edward Island; Miousse is from les Îles de la Madeleine, which are a part of Quebec. They were in Milwaukee last week for a concert at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center. Our in-studio performance was engineered by WUWM’s Tom May.
