June 7 and 9, the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, which has already said it’s bringing folks like Bonnie Raitt and Christian McBride in early June, has also lined up New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty for the Waterfront Park tent on June 7 and reggae legend Jimmy Cliff for the same spot on June 9. The festival hasn’t announced this one, but I’ve also learned that the funky international group Chicha Libre is coming to the festival on June 6; that’s a Wednesday, typically the day Nectar’s hosts an action-packed jazz-fest club show, so I’m guessing this will be this year’s Nectar’s installment.
