What an amazingly awesome weekend we just had in this city!! Where else can you go to HARDLY STRICTLY BLUEGRASS, DECOMPRESSION, THE SF GIANTS, THE 49ER'S, THE COLUMBUS DAY PARADE and ..oh look up there's a BLUE ANGEL flying over your head! BISS List LOVES San Francisco!!
We may not have quite as much going on this coming week but there is PLENTY to see and hear!!
At the Regency, tonight, is guitarist STEVE VAI WITH BEVERLY MCCLELLAN. Congrats to Jeffrey K & Doug M! Also tonight is EOIN HARRINGTON at Brick and Mortar. (*WIN) Or check out the new weekly Afrobeat night hosted by THE AFRICAN OUTLET Experience at Bissap Baobob!
On Wednesday, here in the city is DINOSAUR JR. at The Fillmore. Or you could head North for our friend MARK KARAN, at Sweetwater or head East for another BISS fave STU ALLEN WITH MARS HOTEL.
On Thursday, we have ANDERS OSBORNE & ROBERT WALTERS 20TH CONGRESS at The Independent (*Congrats to Jeff K and Misty R). Check out the interview with Anders on bisslist.com by BISS Staff writer, Josh Danson!!
Also on Thursday, we are Dancing on the Mothership at The Boom Boom Room with the CD Release Party for KATDELIC, with RONKAT (P FUNK ALLSTARS) (*WIN). Not only is it their cd release, but it is also their video premier with BISS List peeps and crew in the video!
In the North Bay on Thursday, get your weekend started early with JUNO WHAT?! at Sweetwater (*WIN).
If you still haven't had your fill of festivals there is one more awesome one happening in beautiful Joshua Tree this weekend! It's the JOSHUA TREE ROOTS MUSIC FESTIVAL, featuring STEVE KIMOCK WITH BERNIE WORREL AND WALLY INGRAM AND ANDY HESS, ANDERS OSBORNE, THE CALIFORNIA HONEYDROPS, HOWLIN' RAIN, MUSKETEER GRIPWEED, BIRDS OF CHICAGO, PROFESSOR BURNS AND THE LILAC FIELD, REVOLTAIRE, and many more (*WIN). Happy Birthday to Wally Ingram and his beautiful wife Laurie!!!
If you are staying in SF this weekend, we have LOTS of choices!! We have DARK STAR ORCHESTRA starting a two night run at The Fillmore (*WIN). THE SMASHING PUMPKINS get us warmed up for Halloween at The Civic Center. THE SENSATIONS featuring GREG LOIACONO of The Mother Hips, MARC FRIEDMAN of The Slip, and DAVE BROGAN of ALO, rock it out at Cafe du Nord.
Saturday night is round two of DSO at the Fillmore. Then it's time for BISS favorite psychedelic funk band, JUNO WHAT?! They will rock us all down to electric avenue and then take control of your body!!! JUNO WHAT is playing juno where, juno when!! Juno why you should go? BISS! (That's Saturday night going late at BBR - *WIN!)
