New York Latin Culture, Event Preview >>

The festival program presents great art, literature, film, music, architecture and family programming produced by Mexican artists and Americans with a Mexican heritage. This is not stereotypical Mexican culture, but rather contemporary work inspired by one of the great civilizations of the Americas. True to its Latin roots, most of the events have a social component where you can meet interesting people while enjoying contemporary Mexican food and spirits. The festival is produced by Claudia Norman, one of New York’s leading experts in Mexican art and culture.

Perhaps the most important reason to visit Celebrate Mexico Now is to see who we as Americans are becoming. The United States is the second largest Spanish-speaking country in the world after Mexico, and in a generation, one third of Americans will have a Hispanic Heritage, mostly Mexican. The archaic point of view is that Mexican culture is low-class. We have believed this about every generation of immigrants. The reality is that Mexico has a sophisticated culture which is what you will discover at Celebrate Mexico Now.
